Hotel Landgoed Ekenstein – Reopening mid-2026

Since August 2025, Hotel Landgoed Ekenstein has been part of the Bosma Horeca Group. This historic estate in Appingedam is currently undergoing complete renovation and reinforcement, enabling us to offer our guests an even higher level of comfort, hospitality, and quality in the future.

The work will take the time necessary to preserve the character and monumental appearance of the estate, while the interior, rooms, and facilities are completely modernized. We expect to reopen our doors in mid-2026.

A place steeped in history

The Ekenstein estate has a rich history dating back to 1648, when it was built on behalf of Johan Eeck, a wealthy resident of Appingedam. For centuries, the estate was inhabited by prominent families and later became a popular venue for parties, receptions, and overnight stays. With its characteristic driveway, surrounding park, and stately architecture, Ekenstein has been a landmark in the region for generations.

Our future

After its reopening, Hotel Landgoed Ekenstein will offer stylish, comfortable rooms, modern meeting rooms, a gourmet restaurant, and a unique ambiance where history and luxury meet. Located in the green heart of North Groningen, yet close to the city and Eemshaven, it will be a destination where relaxation and inspiration take center stage.
